Tuesday Tidbits.

I thought I'd share some fun posts.  The ones that really grab my attention.
I'm somewhat enamored with colored pencils.  Not sure why?  I just am.  Magically, I think one day I'll just be able to sketch my designs.  Sketch them exactly as they appear in my head...I hope.  Not anytime soon but, one day...maybe.  Anyhow, remember I'm enamored with colored pencils.  I just happen to be over at A PIECE of TOAST blog and see this artwork, errr, I mean colored pencil collection.  Love it!  You receive 25 colored pencils each month for 20 months.  Check it out here, very cool.

If you are looking for a DIY summer wreath, stop here.  Well, actually here.  Annemarie over at Brunch at Saks has out done herself.  I absolutely love this wreath and it has been added to my craft "to-do" list.

On a side note, I have become quite the crafty person lately.  The month of June was a very creative month for me.  And inspirational one as well.  In the design studio that is.  Yes, BlondiesShop has about 25 "in-the-works" designs.  Literally.  You see I typically sit on the floor in my living room and sort through my paper.  My huge stack of paper.  One day, I'll take a few pics and show you.  Another "to-do" added to the list.  And pair up coordinating paper as well.  Then I sift through my cards.  And then add ribbon.  I like to design cards that have texture and dimension.  All while remaining unique.  But,  not so unique I can't re-create them.

I still have two unfinished scarves.  Yes, two.  These are the same two for the last several months.  I just haven't been feeling my knitting.  I just haven't.  However, I must finish them and move on.  The goal was to have a zillion made by fall...and I'm, well, let's just say very behind schedule.

I think what I'm going to do is schedule everything in my PlannerPad.  Yes, what a fabulous idea!  And your probably wondering why didn't she think of this before...?  Well, I did -- I just didn't do it.  Well, tomorrow in the AM while, I'm drinking my first cup of coffee I'm going to do it.  Yep, I really am.  I need to be on it.

You see now that I'm finally feeling better I need to get back into my workout regime, schedule it.  And get on it with the scarves and my outstanding projects in the design studio.

Also, I've decided I'm going to do a giveaway from my shop but, I haven't quite yet figured out what I'm going to giveaway.  Should I give away a shopping spree of $X or pick an item or two...?  You help me decide, I'd love your input.

I want to mention that I do custom orders for my note cards and scarves.  Currently in the works is my second set of wedding thank you cards for girlfriend, Dana and her hubby John.  The first set was for my cousin, Amy and her hubby Rob.  Oh, and I've been asked to do another set, plum and black.  And to think I've already got a little something in the works.  Feel free to suggest color schemes or designs you'd like to see in the shop.  And need I forget the fabulous baby announcements I have in the works for another girlfriend, I'm waiting for the photos before I glue the rosettes to the card.  Oh, and I must tell all of you that I'm in love, absolutely, positively with making rosettes for my cards.  Love them!  And of course, I have cards in the works for friends...some of you have birthday's coming up and a few of you might just get a set "just because".  So, feel free to comment on color scheme's.  I'm too funny, aren't I?

My 4th of July weekend in Chicago was so much fun!  And I do miss Bill, Brenna and Lily already.  But, they mustn't worry because I'll be back soon.  And I already know your wondering "where are the pictures" and "what are the details" - don't worry their coming.  Yes, I'll post pics and the details later this week.  And I have another fun-filled weekend  on July 22nd - I'll be heading to Florida to visit my childhood friend, Jason and his wife Brenda, and their adorable daughter Elizabeth (she'll be 5 months in a few days).  I'm sooo looking forward to it.  I really must say all of my friends kids are growing up so very fast.  Oh, and YES we are hitting the beach!  Yipppee.  And Ron Jon Surf Shop on Cocoa Beach.  That was my only request: the beach and maybe the surf shop.  And I must say it's pretty cool to say you've been friends with someone for 32 years and now get to meet their daughter (well, Jason AND Brenda's) for the first time!  SO very exciting.  And yes, Jason and I, have been friends for a very long time.  And I love his wife too!  I'm very much looking forward to spending a few days with Brenda and Jason and their brand new addition.

Alright, I think I've updated you all enough.  Can't you tell how much better I'm feeling?!  And thank goodness that I am.  I was feeling pretty crappy.  Ok, its time for my bedtime tea, face mask, and a few pages in my book!

I hope each of you have an absolutely fabulous day!  Any fun, exciting plans today?  Or anything fun and exciting coming up this week?  I'd love to hear from you.  Make it a super great day!

  1. I feel like this past month has been a good DIY month for me as well! I have been making a lot of jewelry, but I do wish I could draw! Unfortunately, it seems 3D art is really the only area that I succeed in. :)
