Fashion Friday - Rockstars and Leather.

Fashion Friday is here!  And I'm linking up with the divine Ms. Kori over at Blonde Episodes.  Today is going to be an absolutely fabulous post.  Fabulous darlings.  Just fabulous!  You see I've themed it to my uber fabulous rockin' plans.  I have a very hot date tonight.  You see my wonderful boyfriend, Bern,  surprised me with a pair of tickets to the Poison and Motley Crue concert and I am so very E-X-C-T-E-D!  So, I thought there's nothing better than sharing a themed Fashion Friday in honor of my plans.  Rockstars and leather.

Here's a little premise for the post and my evening...

Some of you might be surprised but, I love rock!  Love it.  And I went to high school 1990-1994 so of course Poison and Motley Crue fit right in.  Oh yes they do!  There is other bands I like as well and I do like all types of music - my IPOD and CD mixes in my car definitely go from one extreme to the other.
Well, the most exciting part about this is I'll be able to sing along to almost every song for Poison and a handful for Motley...  But, the absolute best, and I mean BEST part of the evening will be my air guitar.  Oh yes, I will be whipping it out and rockin' away.  It's funny because Bern first experienced my air guitar a few summers ago during our car ride to and from San Diego.  You see I made about 6 CD's from our Itunes library and tried to include both of our music...  Bern likes a lot of stuff from the 70's so I included that as well.  Bern likes Earth, Wind and Fire, Sly and the Family Stone, and Bruce Springsteen (just to name a few).  But, he enjoys a whole bunch of other musicians as well - ALL types like me.  So, anyhow, you can tell between the two of us we have a pretty good mix of music.  Back to the car ride...when my favorite song came blaring out of the speakers: Poison's is Look What the Cat Dragged In I went into action!!!!  Air guitar and all.  Oh yes, I really did.  And yes, I do the "meow" too.  I think Bern was somewhat shocked but, he's requested a few repeat performances a few times since his little introduction to my air guitar.  On a side note, I'll try and get Bern to record a video with my phone and I'll post this weekend for all of your viewing pleasure.  Ok, so on with Fashion Friday!

I thought it would be absolutely fitting to theme today with leather fashion outfits.  However, I won't be wearing any of these outfits to the concert because it's outside but, it will be in the 90's...and I want to enjoy myself.  However, I will say it will be interesting to see how every one's dressed.  Brett Michaels Poison's lead singer lives here in town, so he's a regular habitant of the Valley of the Sun and knows what to expect.  Don't worry I'll give a full recap this weekend.

But, due to the weather the outfit below {scroll down} is what I'll really be wearing.  Seriously, this outfit that I created on polyvore this evening is pretty much in essence what I'll be wearing, shorts, tank top, etc.   And yes, that really is a fanny pack (one, that I've had for probably close to 20 years) and what will be in.  And the jewelry is pretty dead on as well.  Have a wonderful Friday and don't forget to head over to Blonde Episodes and see the rest of the posts.  I hope you have a rockin' good evening, I know I will!

I love both Poison and Motley Crue back in the day. They are so cool. There's not much new bands these days that kinda have their sound.

  5. Concert dressings is always a challenge, we have such grand designs, but in the end it is always too darn hot to dress up too much, and comfort is essential for all the head banging that will be going down. Have a good time!
