...this & that... Thursday.

My favorite day of the week.  It's my favorite not just because of today's post but because it is 1-day closer to the weekend!  Yay!  Today's post will be about ...this & that... in my life this week!

I'll have you know that I'm enjoying my pizza, glass of wine, and half watching/listening to Burlesque as I type away.  A fabulous movie.  Cher and Christina are absolutely fabulous.  Truly they are, don't you agree?

I went to the MAC store today and was disappointed with my "picks" from Tuesday Tidbits.  The Lipgelee was incredibly metallic.  And the powder didn't impress me.  However one of the Lipglass's did.  I purchased Plushglass in Bubble Tea and Lip Pencil in Naked Liner.  And I must say I LOVE the look.  I'm leaning towards revamping my look entirely.  Yes!  Wow, I actually admitted that.  Hmmm...well, I'm thinking a neutral, soft look is the way to go.  This means fading out my signature smoky eye...  I'm not sure if I'm capable of this.  But, I'm seriously pondering it AND I have been going lighter the last 2 weeks.  What do you think?

I received some fabulous things in the mail today.  Really I did!  Don't you just love receiving presents in the mail?  Take a look and see my excitement...

The clutch even came with some instructions.  Ironing instructions that is.  CoryRenee wants to ensure that after arrival there's no creases.  A very nice touch don't you think.

What might that be?  Gee I wonder...
Well, I received 2, count them "2", invitations.

The beautiful envelope with calligraphy is a wedding invitation to my girlfriend Dana's wedding.  I'm honored to be in attendance when Dana and John get married.  On July 2nd I'll be in Chicago celebrating her day!  An old friend from freshman year of high school, 1990. 

A wedding shower invitation for my cousin Amy.  However, I can't attend.  It's the Friday before her wedding during the day and I'm not sure I can miss work for 4-hours.  But, I'll be there in spirit.

See, I told you my mail brought me some excitement today.  I wanted to share with you a picture of my girlfriend, Dana and her fiance, John.  And I photo of her and I.  In the fall of 2009 I saw her for the first time in over 13 years.  We had a falling out but, made up.  And I'll soon get to meet her kids.  And see her family -- we go waaaay back!  Now, we're all grown up.  I'm so excited to attend their wedding.

Jami over at Imagine Design Blog has a fun drink in honor of Mother's Day on her Wednesday Weekend Warm Up post.  I think we each need to honor and toast our Moms' with a fruity cocktail.


A fun read:  The Violet.  Its a brand new online magazine that was just launched.  And I must say I love it.  It's a fun and easy read.  The best part is that it is not entirely focused on design.  Well, design "yes" but, it combines design and life.  I like the theme and the concept.  Unfortunately, I can't remember whose blog I saw it on - I'm sorry (please let me know if you know who blogged about it).  Check it out and let me know what you think.

I receive Design Darling via email.  And I must say some fabulous posts.  These necklaces and interchangeable pendants by Loren Hope definitely grabbed my attention the other day.  And I think I'll be adding one some day soon.  If you love monograms you need to check out this post and stop by and visit Luxury Monograms.  A definite must. 

And last but not least I need to share a funny photo from Sunday morning.  Bern was cleaning his kitchen counter and we were having a somewhat "serious" conversation and my eyes became glued to the Windex bottle.  Yes, they really did.  I actually stopped him from talking and had to read the bottle - I actually picked it up and read it.  Truly, I did.  We both had a bit of laughter and of course I snapped a picture.  Let me know if it grabs your attention.

A bit silly however, it did give me a chuckle.
