Ahhh, it's Friday and Fashion Friday and of course I'm linking up with Kori over at Blonde Episodes. Yes! I can't contain my excitement. You see I also reach a milestone tomorrow. Yes, I do! Let's just say...you say it's my birthday... First things first, let's get on with today's fashion. I'm really excited about today's picks. My theme comes courtesy of {av} from {long distance loving} and of course I'm linking up for Friday's Fancies too.
The maxi dress. Let's begin with a little history from here, here, and here. "Oscar de La Renta is credited as one of the first to create what is known as the maxi dress. He designed one in 1968 for the Elizabeth Arden Salon. Other designers that later focused on the maxi dress concept were Dior, Cardin, Biba and Halston." To think that maxi dress is still in style or rather making a comeback. I will say that the style has changed a bit. It was originally lace and ankle length however, now, it is floor length and this IS my hang-up with the maxi. I just can't get over the fabric getting dirty on the ground and eventually getting ruined, ugh! Seriously, am I overreacting....? Anyhow, the history of the maxi was very interesting to read so, if you get some time "click" on the links above and check it out (the first post is the most informational).
Anyhow, I don't own a single maxi but, I love seeing them on everyone. I guess I just need to take a fashion leap and purchase a maxi, right? I'm thinking the two maxi's at the end of the post are calling my name. Fashion Fairy, I hope your reading this post: one of each please.
I decided to show the same maxi 3-different ways. We each have our own style and can definitely make the same outfit look completely different. Please note that all of the creations in today's post are not my own creations. So, let's check out the 3 versions. And please let me know which version is your style. Enjoy.

Maxi version 3: do yo like it, love it or hate it? Personally, this is my favorite look of the 3.
However, I will say these 2 maxi dresses (below) are the epitome my style. I think the solid orange maxi is screaming my name!

Which maxi version is your style, 1, 2 or 3? With regards to the double set of colorful maxi's which is your favorite...? It's an extremely hard pick for me. Although, I must say that it would be fun to have both for a fun beach getaway weekend and then I'd get to wear both. The fun part would be to make a decision and decide when to wear each one...? Hmmm, decisions, decisions...

Have a fabulous Friday and wonderful weekend, tomorrow I'll be celebrating my milestone! Eeek, I'm turning 35...check back tomorrow and I'll give the b-day low down. For more Friday fun don't forget to hop on over to Blonde Episodes for more Fashion Friday posts and {long distance loving} for more Friday's Fancies and to "like" your favorite outfit,
