Tuesday Tidbits.

Well, well, well.  Yes, I'm actually posting today.  Sorry, I know it's been awhile since I've posted a Tuesday Tidbits post.  Well, anyhow, here I am - so let's go...

This past weekend was fun, fun, fun!  I attended Mel's birthday party pool luau and boy was it HOT out!  Almost all of us spent the entire time in the pool.  Literally, it was hot.  Well, over 105 degrees if I'm not mistaken.  However, each of us did take turns inside.  And even though we celebrated her big day this past Saturday her official birthday is today...so , Happy 29th Birthday Mel.

The birthday girl is over to the far left.  And she's the only one looking my way.  Happy Birthday Melly!

Here is Mel's dog Dakota who was chillin' in the shade.  Did you notice is festive lei's around his neck...?
My little sis thought it was appropriate to include him in the party and their other dog too.
Too funny I know but, that's Mel's deal.
She is a party planner.  :)
On Sunday, I met Mel and her hubby and several of their friends for brunch and it was a lot of fun.  There were eight of us at brunch and six of us headed to the movies afterwards.  Movie #1 was Bad Teacher and it was so-so.  Movie #2 was Green Lantern (yes, I saw it for the second time).  It was 111 degrees outside so, there wasn't a lot to do and we all had fun.  The movies were 15 minutes apart so how could we not see both?  So, movie #1 ended and the guys headed to buy tickets for movie #2 while the girls got refreshments and the guys had sandwiches.  Oh, and need I forget the monster order of nachos - we all nibbled on that.  Anyhow, the weekend rounded out to a very fun weekend.

I'm looking forward to this weekend as well.  You see for the 4th of July I'm headed back home...to Chicago!!!  I'm attending the wedding of a high school friend and seeing 2 other friends (whom got married to one another a few years ago) and family!  Not sure what other friends I'll see but, I'm looking forward to it.  I plan on spending the day downtown on Friday and definitely hitting the Taste of Chicago, yum!  And I haven't been to the Aquarium in awhile so I'm going there as well.  On Saturday, is the wedding but, I'm hoping to see my grandparents and a stop by the cemetery with flowers.  And then head to Dana and John's wedding.  On Sunday, I'm spending the entire day with my fabulous friends that married each other, Bill and Brenna, and their very growing daughter Lily.  Lily makes me feel old!  Really, she does...she's so big...last time I saw here she was still a baby.  I'd also love to see Dani, Brent, and Jaxson if I can make it to the Indiana Shore...  Maybe, hook up with Brad downtown for cocktails again before I head back on the train on Friday...hmmm, I have a lot of Facebook messages to send and emails and phone calls to make.  I need to get busy.  It will be a blast of a weekend.  Oh, and need I forget fireworks!  I don't head back to Phoenix until Monday evening so, I'll have a wild, fun-filled, packed 4-days.  If your back home and reading this hit-me-up via email or text and we will coordinate.

I'm excited can't you tell?  Alright, on to some more tidbits...

The newest issue of High Gloss is out.

Please sign up for your daily dose of glitter here.  The glitterGUIDE is fabulous and so is their tumbler

Check out this cool article at Newsweek.com about Diana at 50.  Yes, this is as in Princess Diana.  I'm a little obsessed with the Royal family.  I just love them.  I really like the premise behind the article and how it was written - let me know what you think...

And thank you to Rachel over at Love a la Mode for informing me that H&M will be having an affordable line by Versace...  UMMM, can you say awesome!  And this will be an affordable line.  Check out the press release here.

I'm also thinking I might need to buy a little Urban Decay eye shadow from the Naked collection for my trip...hmmm, decisions, decisions.  Yes, I do realize that I do have clearly way to much eye shadow already (thank you MAC) but, a girl can never have enough, right?  Right.  Hmmm, so what do you think?  Does anyone have this already?  If yes, do you love it or hate it?  I want to hear from you.  The 12 shadows look absolutely divine.  Oh, yes, they truly do...

Alright, I need to hit the hay.  I have a busy day tomorrow.  A very busy day.  I need to get up early and pack some.  I need to go early to the dry cleaners so that I get my clothes back (same day).  Then I need to come home do laundry and finish packing.  Finish four blog posts.  Yes, four.  I don't think I'm going to take my lab top...I'm undecided because I don't want to check anything.  So, I'm still contemplating if I'm taking it.

Oh, and I'm reading Nora Roberts Bride Quartet series over again for the 3rd or 4th time.  I skipped book one and went right to book 2.  And now I'm on 3.  I hoping to finish it to bring book 4 with me this weekend.  And I already know your thinking where in the world is she going to have time to read it...don't worry I will have time.

potential clients approval, what do you think?

PS - A special thanks to my Mom for dinner tonight and a trip to Michael's to help with the leopard paper (and we ended up with ribbon instead).  And Mom wants to get into scrapbooking -- pretty exciting stuff!  She has ton's of pictures.  I sent her home with 2 of my scrapbooking "how-to" books for ideas, etc.  And my homework assignment to her was this:  look through the books and then pick out a bunch of your favorite photos with a theme in mind and we will get to work.  I told her I'd help her with her first book.  Fun times.

Have a fabulous evening!  And wonderful Wednesday.
