Friday's Fancies - It's pool party time!

I officially designed my own outfit today.  I've designed it in honor of my sister's pool party that I'll be attending tomorrow.  It's a special pool party you see -- it's her birthday.  Well, it's not really until Tuesday and obviously we are celebrating early on the weekend.  Anyhow, this isn't an outfit I really have but, it is in-fact something that I'd wear.

At any given time I have two pairs of sunglasses in my purse (or car). They are different colors and you need to be prepared if you break one OR just are not feeling the pair you have on. You know what I mean? Anyhow, you absolutely, positively need a hat, period. Shades and hats are no exceptions. You need them both period. You need to protect the skin on your face and around your eyes! Seriously, you do. I almost always have on my ASU visor while I'm at the pool however, when it's 118 degrees outside and my scalp is getting hot I have on my straw cowboy hat.

Since tomorrow's a pool party and I will be in the water I'll most likely just wear my visor -- let's just say it's more user friendly with the chlorine than the straw hat. And I'll be loading on the sunscreen all day long, you see I'm currently rather pale. Yes, I really am. And no sunburns for me, thank you very much.

I thought this black cover up is absolutely fabulous and I thought this short, drawstring skirt matched perfectly. You'll need a fashionable straw bag to fit the necessities: a towel, Ipod, sunscreen, bottle of water, sunglasses, telephone, towel, and chapstick with SPF. Almost forgot, my Blackberry will be in the bag. I'd be lost without it. Typically, I'd also add a paperback book and a magazine or two, and my journal and mechanical pencil (for any blog ideas that might come my way). Mojitos will be my drink of choice at the party (my sis has already planned to make them) and I'll be drinking plenty of water and reapplying the sunscreen and chapstick.
