Today is a very special day. Fashion Friday, yes. But, today is the "official" release date of Ms. Kori Donahue's novel, Murder on the Boulevard. And TODAY is all about Kori. You can purchase the novel here. It's available today in ebook format ($2.99) and the paper edition will be available in about a week.Let me explain how I "met" Kori. Early last fall, I stumbled upon her blog, Blonde Episodes and instantly fell in-love. I hope you do to. We struck up a rapport commenting on each other's blogs and connecting via twitter. And a few weeks ago while visiting Southern California I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Kori, live and in-person. We met at a mini-blogger meet up with Leeann from Join the Gossip. And I must say Kori is an absolutely, amazing person. I'm really glad to have met her in the "virtual" blogging world and in real-life. And I know you'll love her to. Hop on over to Blonde Episdoes and you'll fall in-love.
Here's a little sneak peak. Murder on the Boulevard:
Bobbi had always wanted to find Mr. Right. But, as a young, independent woman in her late 20's, Hollywood was probably not the right place to find him, especially in the 1950's. Just when she thinks she's found her Prince Charming, she gets involved in something sinister. Bodies are appearing all over town, and if she doesn't figure it out, she'll be the next murder victim...on the Boulevard.

I'd thought it would be fun to share an impromptu interview I had with Kori about how Murder on the Boulevard came to be...
ME: Can tell me how you came about writing the novel?
KORI: I wrote the novel because Nicolette Fischer of Simply Colette actually blogged about NaNoWriMo and I thought it sounded like the perfect challenge for me. I tried it, wrote 50,000 words in November 2009 and begin the long revision process. My brother inspired me to begin the publishing process and I am so grateful to him! {Click here to read Nicolette's post that inspired Kori}
ME: What is your favorite vintage accessory or piece of clothing that you have?
KORI: My favorite vintage accessory is definitely my wicker purse collection from Hong Kong made in the 1950's. I have 3 of them and carry them with everything!

In honor of Murder on the Boulevard's release let's head back to the 1950's for a fun and stylish Fashion Friday. The entire post is pictures from the 1950's via here, here, and here.
Now, let's head back to the 50's for Fashion Friday on the Boulevard. Let's check out the style of the time. Envision yourself along side "Bobbi" as she searches for Mr. Right..on the boulevard.
